Hong Kong, 30 de septiembre de 2025 — El Consulado General de Colombia en Hong Kong conmemora 170 años desde la designación del primer cónsul en la ciudad asiática en 1855, un hecho que marcó el inicio de la proyección internacional de nuestro país hacia Asia.
Hong Kong ha sido históricamente un puente entre Oriente y Occidente. Para Colombia, este territorio ha representado una ventana clave para el comercio, la cultura y la educación, así como un espacio de acompañamiento y apoyo a la comunidad de connacionales que hoy vive y trabaja allí.
Tras un largo silencio consular, en la década de 1990 Colombia reactivó su presencia diplomática en Hong Kong, ya bajo la conducción de diplomáticos de carrera. Desde entonces, la misión ha fortalecido la relación bilateral y ha abierto nuevas oportunidades de cooperación en la región.
En 2025, además, se celebran los 45 años de relaciones diplomáticas entre Colombia y la República Popular China, y la adhesión de nuestro país a la Iniciativa de la Franja y la Ruta. En este marco, el Consulado General en Hong Kong reafirma su compromiso como plataforma estratégica para promover el comercio, el intercambio cultural y educativo, y para acompañar a la comunidad colombiana en Asia.

哥伦比亚在香港的170年：历史与未来的桥梁
2025年，哥伦比亚驻香港总领事馆迎来成立170周年。自1855年新格拉纳达政府任命第一位驻港领事以来，这段历史见证了哥伦比亚不断拓展国际视野的努力。
香港长期以来都是连接中国与世界的重要门户。对哥伦比亚而言，它不仅是通往亚洲的重要窗口，也是促进经贸、教育和文化交流的重要平台。
经过19世纪的起步与长期的沉寂，哥伦比亚在20世纪90年代重新设立驻港总领事馆，并从此进入一个专业化的新阶段。如今，驻港的哥伦比亚外交官不仅服务当地侨民，也积极推动与中国的合作。
值此170周年之际，哥伦比亚与中国同时庆祝建交45周年，并于2025年加入“一带一路”倡议。哥伦比亚驻香港总领事馆不仅是一段历史的见证，更是一个面向未来的平台，将继续促进贸易、文化、教育以及两国人民之间的交流与联系。

170 Years of Colombia in Hong Kong: A Bridge from the Past to the Future
In 2025, the Consulate General of Colombia in Hong Kong marks 170 years since the first consul was appointed in 1855 by the then government of New Granada. This milestone reflects Colombia’s longstanding aspiration to project itself internationally and to connect with Asia through Hong Kong, a city that has long served as a gateway between China and the world.
After an initial 19th-century presence and a long period of silence, Colombia re-established its consulate in Hong Kong in the 1990s, entering a new era of professional diplomacy. Since then, Colombian diplomats in the city have not only assisted the local community but also expanded cultural, commercial, and educational ties.
Today, as Colombia also celebrates the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the People’s Republic of China and its accession to the Belt and Road Initiative in 2025, the Consulate in Hong Kong stands as both a symbol of historical continuity and a platform for the future. It remains committed to fostering trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections between Colombia, Hong Kong, and China.
